On behalf of the organising team we are pleased to invite you to participate in the 4th SIAMG conference & Indo-US symposium to be held at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala on 8th to 10th December 2017. The focus of the conference will be on “Human Genetic Disorders of Prenatal and Postnatal Growth”.

The scientific committee is planning an academic programme that would have a mix of authoritative plenary lectures by stalwarts and clinical discussions on diagnosis and management of genetic disorders affecting growth. There will be two workshops on basic & advanced genetic investigations on preconference day [7th December, 2017].

The organising team is keen to see participation of SIAMG members, clinical geneticists, paediatricians, Molecular geneticists, scientists, Post graduate students, medical students, Research scholars and other professionals working in the field of human genetics.

We hope you will join us in Thiruvananthapuram to enjoy the academic feast and our hospitality. This is also a great opportunity to explore the scenic beauty of Kerala. The three day will be career enhancing opportunity for all the participants.

DAY 1 7th December (Thursday)

WORKSHOP I: “INVESTIGATIONS IN CLINICAL GENETICS”

A practicing clinician and residents should be aware of various genetic investigations. One day workshop will elaborate the various investigations (Basic & advanced) by eminent national faculty. All sessions will be based on case scenarios.

WORKSHOP II: USCS genome browser and Human genome: Bioinformatics workshop

Bioinformatics tools and web resources have become an integral part of professional lives of human geneticists. The workshop aims to provide a hands-on experience on University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC) Genome Browser, a widely used database. The target audience is researchers working in the field of medical genetics, human genetics and clinical genetics. Participant should have basic knowledge of computers and internet browsing. The participants are expected to bring their own laptops. Access to Wi-Fi services will be provided. To optimize the hands-on training to the participants limited registrations are available and selection is purely on first come first served basis.
