(1) SBMR Research project titled “Role of Immunohistochemistry in differentiating Carcinoma pancreas from inflammatory masses in Chronic calcifying pancreatitis” -Principal Investigator: Dr.Ramesh Rajan.

(2) Doing PhD in University of Kerala (Part time) Dr.Sindhu.R.S.

(I) OP : Attendance : Approximately 6000 patients per annum

(II) IP : Attendance : Approximately 800 patients per annum

(III) Casualty : Services on 24 hour call basis

(IV) Surgeries : 438 major operations on patients from all districts of Kerala and Southern districts of Tamilnadu perannum. Hepatopancreaticobiliary, upper G1,Colorectal Surgeries. Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeries.


These include those referred from District and Taluk hospitals, those referred from RCC and Srichithra, private hospitals and those referred for second opinion. In addition, this includes patients who approach the Dept after admission and workup at Corporate hospitals, as they cannot afford treatment there.

(V) Atleast 5-6 critically ill patients on ventilators support are regularly referred from

Corporate Hospitals for further care every year.

Additional activities

Training of MSC Nursing students and post basic specialty Nursing students.
